Passionate Sales Lead to Increased Revenue

send thank yous

You have to be burning with an idea, or a problem, or a wrong that you want to right. If you’re not passionate enough from the start, you’ll never stick it out.

Outstanding professionals and teams are passionate about their careers, products, services, and/or companies. Passion for work brings out the enthusiasm necessary to make a sale. Passion shows that you believe in your products and services, and that helps you to build trust and rapport with your clients.

Passion fills others with positive emotion and inspiration and greatly enhances the likeliness of a new client.

Passion for Work from Meaning

Passion for work comes from meaning. When you connect a meaning to why you are doing your job, and you align that with the company’s meaning and you then connect it to client’s meaning, you achieve a level of success very few achieve.

Passion for work is a critical ingredient for any kind of success, and it is missing from many professionals. A report based on a survey of 5,000 U.S. households conducted for The Conference Board by TNS, found only 45% of those surveyed report that they are satisfied with their jobs, down from 61.1% in 1987, the first year in which the survey was conducted.* What is missing for many with regard to job dissatisfaction is the meaning, and therefore the passion, in their work. When passion is aligned with meaning, success results.

Passion for your work begins with you and carries through every person with whom you interact. When you are passionate about your work, you can’t stop talking about it. It’s not what you do between the hours of 8 and 5, it’s who you are as an individual. When you fully understand why you are doing what you are doing, you bring passion to your sales with each interaction. Successful professionals have aligned their passion within themselves to their job and their product. As a result, those who have a passion for work make good money because it all aligns with their beliefs.

When you find passion in your work, your clients see it and you feel it too. You look at the same situation as everyone else does, but you see it through a completely different lens. You show up each day with the optimism to achieve and excel. As a result of that intention, sales success occurs and even more passion for work develops.

Joie de Vivre

Chip Conley owns a hotel in San Francisco called Joie de Vivre (pronounced zhwad uh vee-vr uh). Customers talk about the passion all of his employees have. They reassess what the titles are for work. Instead of being a “janitor” they are “Customer Experience Enhancers.”

Vocabulary shapes our lives so why wouldn’t it shape our emotions? You don’t have to “be a rep,” you can be a “Business Developer,” if that helps instill more passion for the job at hand.
